Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Provide trauma-informed counseling to Spanish speaking adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence. 30% (12 hr) SAPCS State

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide clinical services, including individual, couples, group, and family counseling to Spanish speaking clients, according to established psychological principles and in a manner that empowers clients in their healing process. 5 hr SAPCS State
  • Provide hotline, intake, crisis intervention, advocacy and case management services in-person and on the hotline, informally assessing for emotional, physical, social, and educational needs, and formulating individualized service plans. 4 hr SAPCS State
  • Actively seek out and liaison with relevant community agencies and resources in order to create a continuum of services that elevates the best interest of clients.
  • Provide interpretation/translation support to team members and clients, and distribute information about working with Spanish speaking survivors. 1 hr SAPCS State
  • Provide clinical expertise to other team members and distribute information about working with survivors of trauma. 1 hr SAPCS State
  • Cover on-call rotation, responding to survivors in community settings such as hospitals, law enforcement agencies and other social service organizations. 1 hr SAPCS State
  • Maintain communication with others and work to fulfill the agency’s mission, vision and philosophy. This includes attending regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Recognize personal emotions, thoughts and values and how they influence behavior while managing their effects on service provision.
  • Report any incident of child or elder abuse to the appropriate Hope Alliance team members.
  • Assist with the collection and maintenance of data for statistical and programming purposes.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and engagement of volunteers and interns as well as community education efforts.
  • Perform other duties as approved by VP of Programs and assigned by immediate supervisor.
